About Jürgen Zimmermann

Jürgen is a writer at Standard Bank, where he developed UX copy practice and guidelines more or less from first principles. He promotes copy as a critical skill in the UX designer's arsenal. To that end, he regularly holds workshops that focus on treating words as components used to solve design problems.

Jürgen is also interested in how users consume content depending on who they are, how they feel, and what they're doing. He's a proponent of using words sparingly and encouraging silences that help users through their own internal dialogues, rather than forcing them into unnecessary conversations.

Jürgen previously worked at EUMETSAT, Royal Bank of Scotland, BT, Vodafone, BNP Paribas, and Yahoo!, among others. He lives in Johannesburg with his wife Jacqueline Fouche. He works with clay and writes novels in his spare time.
